Range Night

As regular attendees of range night know, our last range night was canceled due to monsoon rainfall the night before. Therefore, I’m recycling that post and changing the dates. If the weather cooperates this week, the following should hold true.

Thursday evening June 12, 2014 is our bi-monthly range night. We had a fairly good turnout for our last range night and all involved enjoyed near perfect weather and an evening of shooting and fellowship.

Several individuals shot targets towards their Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification program, and others just had fun honing their skills. Whatever your firearm interests, please join us tomorrow evening at 5:15 pm at the Cedarville Municipal Police Range.

Become A W.A.F.E.r – For Women Only

The Cedarville Marksmanship Club in partnership with Olde English Outfitters is pleased to announce the beginning of a new program.  Women Active in Firearms Education (W.A.F.E.) has been developed to provide women with instruction and coaching by women, for women.  With the aim of educating, equipping and empowering women who are interested in situational awareness, self/home defense and either involved in or interested in becoming gun-owners. We recognize that women are different from men in the way they think, communicate and learn.  These differences can affect how a woman learns about self defense and how to live as a responsible gun-owner.

Recognizing that women in the shooting sports and gun-ownership arenas are growing, The Cedarville Marksmanship Club wants to focus on providing information, training and coaching specifically geared towards women.

The WAFE program seeks to provide women with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for classes that will address basic information, self-defense, situational awareness and firearm use.  In addition, the program will work to provide women with access to complete and relevant information, resources, quality-tested products and reviews tailored specifically to meet a woman’s need, whether you are a new or experienced gun owner.  The WAFE program incorporates information for women from the NRA as well as other recognized and respected sources.

Classes offered by WAFE will include:

  • Situational Awareness
  • Self-defense in & out of the home
  • How to select & purchase a firearm
  • Responsible firearm ownership
  • Confidence building through knowledge & practice
  • Firearms classes
  • Firearms in a home with children
  • Products for women shooters

WAFE is committed to instructing and coaching women in both physical and firearms self-defense.  This instruction is provided by award-winning and highly certified instructors and is designed to provide learning environment aimed at developing competent and effective execution, despite the situation.

For more information on the W.A.F.E. program, please feel free to email at wafecmc@gmail.com or call (937) 681-7358 and ask for Molly Parvin.
